Easily transfer funds with NAB Internet Banking (+ video)

Take the fuss out of transferring money with NAB Internet Banking.

Transfers made easy

With NAB Internet Banking, you can transfer funds to:

  • any of your other NAB accounts instantly; and,
  • any other Australian account at no extra cost, so long as you have Pay Anyone access. (This is one of the Basics of NAB Internet Banking.)

And you can add an extra layer of security with NAB SMS Security.

What you need

  • Your NAB Internet Banking login details:
    • NAB ID (which is on the back of your credit card or debit card)
    • NAB Internet Banking password
  • BSB, account number and name of account holder you are transferring to.

What to do

In NAB Internet Banking, open the Funds Transfer menu and select New Funds Transfer. You should be able to guide yourself through the process or the short video above tells you what to do.

    Hi there,
    I have transferred money from my NAB savings account to another individuals NAB account on a public holiday and it still has not cleared?
    Because the money was transferred to another individuals account (but still with NAB) will the transfer/ clearing time be the same as transferring money to a completely different bank?

      Depending on when it was submitted and whether it’s a single funds transfer or part of a multiple funds transfer, it could be one to two business days. More information here ^SN

    I have transferred yesterday with SMS security but the funds have not gone into the account which I transferred. How long does it usually take??

      Hi Ashok, it depends on the account – if you transferred to a third party account(to another financial institution) it can take up to 2-3 business days ^LB

      Generally speaking, a funds transfer from a NAB account to a non-linked (or 3rd party) NAB account can take 24 to 48 hours to be cleared through, depending on whether it is a first time transfer or not.

      First time single transfers will be delayed by a minimum of 24 hours. Transfer processing times are also dependent on when the transfer was submitted and whether it is a part of a multiple transfer (as would be the case with an

      employer paying wages for example); you might find the following useful ^SN

    Hi! Transferred funds to another person’s nab account using nab internet banking yesterday.funds has been deducted to my account but hasn’t been credited to the other persons account.how long will that take to clear and if it isn’t credited to the other person, what should i do next? Thank you

      HI Cristina,

      Generally speaking, a funds transfer from a NAB account to a non-linked (or 3rd party) NAB account can take 24 to 48 business hours to clear through, depending on whether it is a first time transfer or not.

      First time single transfers will be delayed by a minimum of 24 hours.

      Transfer processing times are also dependent on when the transfer was submitted and whether it is a part of a multiple transfer (as would be the case with an employer paying wages for example); you might find the following useful.

      Should you find that the funds have not cleared into the other person’s account after the 48 hours, please check the account details you’ve input in the transfer and if they’re correct, you could raise a dispute on the funds transfer.

      Here is how you can raise a dispute via your Internet Banking.

      Alternatively, you can call us on 13 22 65 8am-7pm Mon-Fri and 9am-6pm Sat-Sun AEDT/AEST ^SN

    My daughter who is a nab customer has transferred money to me, I’am also a nab customer but the funds have not cleared in my account, I would understand this if it were a first time transfer, but it isn’t. why have the funds not cleared instantly as has happened previously??

      Did your daughter submit the instructions later than usual?

      Have the funds cleared through as yet?

      If the funds don’t appear in your account by COB today, please ask your daughter to follow up from her end, as she’s the sending party ^SN

      Hi Sylvia, as long as your accounts are linked under one NAB ID there is no limit to what you can transfer between these linked accounts ^TC

    Hi there, I transferred money from nab account to ANZ on 4th July. It is now 10 July and the funds have still not reached the ANZ account. What is going on?

      Hi Meriel, transfers should only take up to 3 business days – I suggest you give the team a call on 13 22 65 to look into this ^TC

    I’ve been waiting over 5 business days for my employer to transfer my rental subsidy into my account. Dose it usually take more than 5 business days for it to clear in my account?

      Hi Mandy, I’m unable to advise time frames for other banks but generally a funds transfer will take up to 3 business days – as soon as the funds reach your account they are available ^TC

    Hi,
    My husband(who is also a NAB customer) have transferred money to my NAB account yesterday morning and its not yet cleared.Why it is not instantly cleared.Its very difficult for us to go to bank each time to with draw money and deposit it again into my NAB account in case of urgency.

      Have the funds arrived in the account yet? When were the funds transferred? You can check out our cut off times via this link http://nab.co/1tSEeNv. If the funds still haven’t been credited to your account it’s best to contact us on 13 22 65. ^RL
